Panic room

There’s nothing like a looming deadline to make me panic. The week’s halfway over and I have yet to finish two—count ‘em, TWO—articles! I’m now on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I don’t feel particularly nervous or anything. My heart rate hasn’t gone up and I’d like to think I still look unflappable. But here’s my version of going into panic mode: I put on huge earphones and play noisy music really loud. Rock is preferable—but anything that will drive out the world and give me focus while writing will do.

Right now, I’m listening to a compilation called Shameless 80s, downloaded by a friend. It’s obviously all 80s hits. Check out the songs: Into the Groove (Madonna), Cruel Summer (Bananarama), Here Comes the Rain Again (Annie Lennox), etc. After this, the music will get progressively noisier as I try to finish writing everything. This is what Rolling Stones, Led Zepellin, and Joy Division are for. 🙂

My name is Terrie. I write for a living and blog for pleasure. Some days, I get up in the morning and know precisely what kind of day it is. At other times, I get knocked over for a loop. People seem to like confiding in me. When I was younger, I thought I knew everything and can tell you what you need to do if you ask me. Now that I'm older, I realize I don't know anything. That's been my motivation for the blog and for writing. To figure out the unknown and unknowable.
